The Initial Consultation:

When we receive a call from a potential client, or a healthcare provider makes a referral, we immediately schedule an initial consultation with the client. During this private, one-on-one meeting, our bereavement doula will identify the needs of the client and let them know what we can do to help. An individual support plan will then be chosen depending on the family’s unique situation and needs.

Our doulas can also provide support to families not currently in need of a full support package on an as needed basis. This support includes initial consultation, creating a customized birth plan, creating a farewell plan, postpartum visit, and providing resources & referrals as needed.

Due to the nature of the support our doulas provide, it is vital that we are contacted immediately after the family has learned their baby will not survive. Besides providing resources and referrals, there is very little we can provide in terms of support after the pregnancy loss has occured.
